Pet Boarding
If you're traveling out of town on business or pleasure, and your pet will not be
going along, we would love to have it stay with us. Our entire boarding area is
air conditioned and our cleaning and disinfecting procedures utilize the most modern systems available. All pets staying with us receive individual play time
and extra tender loving care. We also offer discounts on long-term stays.
Preventive Medical Care
Innovative preventative vaccines and blood screening tests are offered routinely during your pet's semiannual (for dogs) and annual (for cats) examination.
For cats, we recommend testing for the Feline Leukemia Virus. This testing complements the Feline Distemper Complex (FVRCP), Chlamydia, FIP, and Rabies vaccines normally given annually. Cats can be infected with heartworms.
We are now recommending that cats - especially if they live outdoors - be
placed on monthly heartworm preventative. For our canine clients, we recom-
mend vaccinating against Distemper, Parvo, Corona, Bordatella, and Rabies
on a yearly basis.
For our canine clients, we now test semi-annual for heartworms and Lyme Disease. Heartworm disease, which is a severe problem in South Florida, can
be prevented by giving your dog Revolution®, a monthly flea/tick/Heartworm preventative. Lyme which is transmitted by ticks, is becoming much more
prevalent in South Florida. There is now a vaccine against Lyme disease that is recommended yearly.
Dental Care
Routine dental cleaning is an often-overlooked part of your pet's preventative
health care plan. Having your pet's teeth cleaned by an ultrasound scaler is the
only effective way of removing the tartar and debris that can cause your pet to experience bad breath, loose teeth, and painful gums. Gingivitis may lead to problems later on such as difficulty eating and liver and kidney problems from trapped bacteria. We offer ultrasound dental scaling and polishing. After your
pet has had it's teeth cleaned, we can help you set up an oral hygiene mainten-
ance program to keep those teeth healthy and bright.
